In Wellmington, all the children read. All the time, everywhere. So much so that we’ve lost count of the number of accidents caused by kids crossing without looking, lost in their books! There’s only one child who isn’t allowed to read: Archibald Bloomer. Since his father disappeared, his mother has strictly forbidden him from opening a novel… but he and his friend Lizzie don’t see it that way.
