Indeed, we are discovering a new generation of talented all-round artists who are not only making music but also have the ambition to master both form and content in a comprehensive creative process.
This is the case with QuinzeQuinze, a collective of 5 musicians who also happen to be engineers, videographers, and graphic designers! It was actually in the design school of Amiens in 2013 that our protagonists met and adopted this enigmatic name, broadcasting interactive 3D visuals every fortnight, a product of their limitless imagination!

But it is mainly music that has allowed them to express their individualities and complementaries, particularly through two of its members: Ennio Neagle and Tsi Min Siu, who hail from French Polynesia. They form an amazing quintet along with Robin Morisse Mac Lean and his brother Marvin as well as Julia Dell'Angelo.
In 2018, they decided to release a fifteen-minute musical short film that tells the creation of the world as presented by Tahitian legends, accompanied by its soundtrack under the name Nevaneva, which then became their first E.P. Two years later, a new four-track project emerged: Le Jeune, mastered by Alex Gopher, one of the champions of the French touch of the 90s and 2000s. The titular track is a denunciation of nuclear testing carried out for 30 years in Polynesia and its consequences: a rise in cancer cases in the region! Another track from this release, “Bolero,” will be remixed by another heavyweight of the deep house scene of the great era: Dj Deep.

Building on these successful early experiences, our self-taught musicians worked on a mini-album released at the beginning of 2022 called: Vãrua. Meaning "spirit" in Tahitian, it is also the root of the word "vãrua'ino" used to speak of evil spirits as well as all meteorological and celestial phenomena. The soul of Tahiti is ever-present, but we are far from the clichéd image or outdated postcard here. Whether in the music or the lyrics, they say themselves: "we want to play with the codes," with a taste for experimentation being their driving force.
The ethereal voices sing in French on the tracks “Le soleil,” “Le Bleu,” and “Te tiare,” in English in “Muse,” “Les restes,” and in Tahitian on “Hotu Painu” and “Tapu Te Po,” drawing inspiration from Orero, this traditional oratory art, in a polyphonic manner (called himene tavaras) or sometimes in a light and discreet way like a sigh. Musically, the to'ere, the percussion from the islands of Polynesia, serves as a true guiding thread that interposes between the sometimes deconstructed rhythms and the mysterious and hypnotic electronic harmonies.
Talking about "climate music" to refer to productions that are a real call to travel and get away, the group evokes ancestral or more contemporary stories. At first, we are unsettled by this fusion of modernity and traditions, which may seem incongruous but quickly becomes familiar.

In any case, the fans of the group and critics are already eagerly awaiting the release of a true first album that should allow QuinzeQuinze to broaden its audience and gain the recognition they deserve. We, at least, can't wait!
